We moved.
I know, I know – AGAIN?! But this time we just moved around the corner – right next to the Stella Cinema. We adore Rathmines and when this space became available we jumped! We’ve been working on it for months and we’re so excited for you to see it.
The space had been vacant for about a decade before we moved in and needed ALOT of work. New floors, new ceiling, new walls, new everything.
The Before
This is what we started with.
All the hideous ceiling tiles were removed, as were the wall tiles – walls were re-plastered. And just LOOK at the MAGNIFICENCE that was revealed when the ceiling tiles were removed. LOOK!
With this new space we wanted to create something really special, a shop that truly embodies April and the Bear. We wanted to create a space that was fun, pink and gorgeous – a space that you’ll never want to leave! We wanted dedicated areas for our team – an office area, a super functional packing room for online orders and a totally unique shop floor.

We added an arch to add some CURVES to the space, the shop floor is quite rectangular and the arch adds some sweet softness.
The wallpaper on the ceiling is original, it was revealed when the ceilng tiles were removed, we kind of suspected it was up there and boy howdy – we were DELIGHTED when it was revealed in all it’s glory. It had tears and bits missing of course, this is seriously OLD wallpaper but it’s beautiful and I was determined to keep it.
We got the builders to patch up the holes and then we dosed it in pink paint. We also added coving to the ceiling, the renovations revealed a small patch of really stunning coving which we replicated all over the ceiling. I think it ties everything together so beautifully. So in love with this ceiling.
The shop fit was long and laborious as these things often are but we made it out the other end and we’re so happy with our brand new store. Let us know what you think!
